Workshop Description
In this workshop you will learn how to see with a realistic eye and create animals you can touch.
Julie and Michael will share their knowledge of accurate drawing, layering and blending pastels. They will discuss their work process, tools, tips, and techniques that will improve your artwork, including such topics as using the camera and photography as a tool, using pastel pencils and sticks, understanding Pastelmat, and the importance of pressure when making marks.
Julie and Michael believe their methods and approach will benefit artists working in all genres, not just those who consider themselves photorealists or hyperrealists.
There will be daily demonstrations, critiques, and plenty of individual 1-on-1 attention at your easels from both Michael and Julie.
This workshop is suitable for students at all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Enrollment is limited to 16 students.
If the workshop sells out, we will open a waitlist for those who are interested. We will contact those on the waitlist in the event a registered student has to drop out of the workshop. Please contact Mauryne Fennell at politisfennell@hotmail.com if you wish to be placed on the waitlist or if you have any questions about the workshop.
