How to Design a Successful Painting

Watercolor painting of white blossoms

Why is a watercolorist going to do a demo and presentation for us when we are pastel artists?

Watercolor-trained approaches encourage planning, clarity of values, confident mark-making, refined edge control, and an awareness of luminous layering and atmosphere. These qualities help pastel artists create paintings that are fresher, more cohesive, and more visually compelling.

Join us for a special evening with an extraordinary artist!

Members will receive a Zoom link for this event.

A special treat for you!

About Joe…

Joe Cibere is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society. His painting style demonstrates his love of nature and the wilderness. His "abstract realism" paintings integrate strong design and balance with a sense of illusion. He has appeared in Watercolor Artist Magazine and in the International Artists book, The Watercolor Sky and Cloud Techniques of 23 International Artists, and also Splash 20. His studio is at Studio Channel Islands, Room R5 in Old Town Camarillo, California.

"The challenge is to know when to stop and let the medium take over. That’s why the most successful paintings seem almost effortless," Joe asserts. "I always look forward to interacting with art patrons and other artists for feedback about the creative process and affirm that visual expression is one of life’s greatest joys.”
