Come Join Us!
Join us at KEN MALLOY Park where Mike Ishikawa will lead us to one of his favorite painting spots for painting en plein air. For those who are interested, Mike will provide a demo. This location is a great place to paint reeds, reflections, and water.
Mike says the best spot is the east entrance from Vermont Avenue. The entrance is in front of the Harbor Hospital, so if you are coming from the south, look for the entrance that has the playground equipment in the park. Drive into the parking lot and park near the playground. After you park, walk across the lawn to the first blacktop walkway. Go left until you reach a concrete circle and turn right. Walk until you see an opening to the lake. There you will see a large concrete area with green railings at the lake edge. The spot will accommodate around 12 people.
Hopefully, we will have nice weather. It’s a great place to paint reeds, reflections and water. Mike will get there around 9:30 and set uphis easel. Bring a lunch if you plan on painting into the afternoon.
Please RSVP to Mike so we know to look for you.
