Painting by Mike Major
We will be featuring a demo and optional mini-workshop by Mike Major.
During the general meeting, Mike will share his thoughts and perspectives while demonstrating his painting approach and techniques for painting large and fast. He will utilize a 20” x 20” plywood panel with his own recipe of pumice and acrylic paint for his ground.
We hope you will join us! Come early at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and socializing.
If you live out of the area, you can participate via Zoom. Log-in information will be provided within a few days of the meeting.
MINI WORKSHOP
Mike will be our instructor for the mini workshop where students will learn how to paint fast and large. Before lunch, students will prepare a plywood surface with acrylic paint and pumice. During the workshop, they will then paint their favorite subject on their prepared wood panel. This will be a fun workshop!
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. following the general meeting.
Cost: $47. This fee includes everything needed to create the painting surface: 20” x 20” plywood, pumice, and acrylic paint.
Materials needed: Pastels, easel, drop cloth, and favorite photo references.

About Mike…
As a Southern California artist, Mike has been painting and drawing for over 40 years, observing and appreciating the beauty around him. He loves being outside, painting nature with expression and intent, always striving to grow as an artist. Mike paints with oils, gouache, and his favorite: pastel.
