Demo and Mini-workshop by
Dori Dewberry
We will be featuring a demo and optional mini-workshop by our very own Dori Dewberry.
During the general meeting, Dori will demonstrate how to paint a floral arrangement in pastel. She will simplify the scene using value shapes to plan the design. Then she will build a color palette that compliments the design plan for the floral composition.
We hope you will join us! Come early at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and socializing.
If you live out of the area, we will also be connecting our members via Zoom.
To participate in the General Meeting via Zoom, log-in information will be provided within a few days of the meeting.
MINI WORKSHOP
During the optional mini workshop, Dori will focus on enhancing our observation skills, design skills, and creating beautiful simple floral compositions in soft pastel. We will start by breaking down the floral reference into simple abstract shapes and values, allowing us to build unique artwork intuitively. We will build a color palette that compliments these values by selecting hues that add vibrancy, spirited mark making, and depth to our piece.
Dori will bring reference photos to work from, but you may bring your own as well.
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. following the general meeting.
